Not for the first time this Autumn the combination of overcast conditions with a light southerly breeze seemed likely to produce a few passerine migrants so it was disappointing that a walk around Skaw only produced a Common Rosefinch and a couple of Siskins. Surprisingly the Pectoral Sandpiper was back on Lamba Ness but my highlight of the day was walking into Valyie and being greeted by the wispy thin call of my first Yellow-browed Warbler of the Autumn - I soon tracked it down - a beauty of a fresh individual.
Skaw: 2 Siskin & Common Rosefinch.
Lamba Ness: juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper.
Holsens road: Pied Flycatcher.
Norwick: Tree Pipit, Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow-browed Warbler, 4 Willow Warblers, Robin & 4 Common Rosefinches.
NorthDale: Lesser Whitethroat & 2 Willow Warblers.
Burrafirth: Lesser Whitethroat & 2 Willow Warblers.
