A nice day to be out birding with a light southerly wind. I saw the legendary Graham Bundy yesterday who asked why I'd not found a Pectoral Sandpiper yet with so many around at the moment and he went on to tell me that he'd found two on Unst. A look around the tip of Lamba Ness early this morning soon put that right so please can we talk Sibe Blue Robins next time Graham?! Unfortunately the Sandpiper soon took flight alongside a noisy Redshank and flew off high west. I went on to see my first Water Rail and Whinchat of the Autumn.
