Pretty unpleasant conditions persisted for most of the morning were followed by a brief drier interlude before the wind finally subsided but the low cloud then descended! A bit of a slog in the weather saw me failing to find any migrants of note at Skaw and a single Ruff on the tip of Lamba Ness left me with the felling that it should have been something better! A walk around Norwick produced just a thin scatter of migrants seeing a Tree Pipit, a female Common Redstart, 2 Blackcaps, a Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Willow Warblers, a Chiffchaff, a Pied Flycatcher, the juvenile Red-backed Shrike courtesy of Duncan Gray, 4 Siskins and 5 Common Rosefinches. However, a little reward came late in the day when we stumbled upon 2 Little Stints at Burrafirth - the long-overdue first we've seen on Unst!
