Nicer weather for birding that produced my first Spotted Flycatcher and Brambling of the Autumn. As far as I know everyone who visited to try to see the Marsh Warbler today failed but it became very active just before dusk when I managed to obtain a sound-recording of it calling.
Skaw: Barred Warbler & 9 Siskin.
Lamba Ness: a single Sooty Shearwater flew north, Grey Heron in off sea, 10 Siskin & a pod of 8-10 Risso's Dolphins heading south courtesy of a heads-up from Robbie.
Millfield: Marsh Warbler, Blackcap & Common Rosefinch.
Norwick: Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Pied Flycatchers, juvenile Red-backed Shrike, 5 Common Rosefinches, 4 Siskin & Brambling.
