10th May 2021 Unst ENE4 Low cloud drizzle

It rained for the first hour of the day but that cleared to leave a misty, drizzly day with low cloud cloaking the hills until more persistent rain arrived around 4pm. An enjoyable day with a few migrants seen at just about every site we visited with a Sanderling, a Short-eared Owl, a Tree Pipit, 2 Whinchats, a Common Redstart, a Common Whitethroat, 2 Sedge Warblers and 2 Pied Flycatchers all new for the year for us!

Millfield: Sedge Warbler, 2 Blackcaps & 3 Willow Warblers.

Skaw: 2 Pied Wagtail, Robin, Stonechat, Whinchat, Sedge Warbler, 4 Willow Warblers & Brambling.

Holsen's road: Song Thrush, male Common Redstart & 3 Willow Warbler (1 dead). 

Norwick: Sparrowhawk, Collared Dove, 2 Pied Wagtails, Robin, Whinchat, 3 Ring Ouzel, 3 Song Thrush, Tree Pipit, 3 Blackcaps, Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler & 5 Bramblings.

NorthDale: Collared Dove, Swallow, Ring Ouzel & 2 Song Thrush.

Sotland: 8 Fieldfare & male Pied Flycatcher.

Burrafirth: Swallow, Blackcap, 2 Willow Warbler & Reed Bunting.

Brakefield: Short-eared Owl.

Haroldswick: Sanderling, 14 Swallows, House Martin, 3 Fieldfares, 4 Song Thrush, Common Whitethroat, 5 Willow Warblers, male Pied Flycatcher & 2 Reed Buntings.
