With the wind dropping to calm overnight it wasn't too surprising there wasn't a white-winger to be seen today. As I drove past Braeview a Moorhen flew off along the burn. Just a handful of Kittiwakes were seen passing north at Lamba Ness. A small flock of Redwing were present at Skaw. Arriving at Norwick there was a juvenile Moorhen on the burn, presumably the same one I'd seen at Braeview, being only the third I've seen on Unst! With Mike away we headed south to do the beached bird survey at Easting beach where we counted 26 Great Northern Divers sat on the sea. At Muness the 3 juvenile Tundra Bean Geese were in the field alongside the castle. As we returned via Easter Loch it was now playing host to 4 Whooper Swans and 5 Goosanders (1 drake).
