10th January 2019 Unst W6 Overcast

Being the mildest day of the year so far I spent most of the day(light) gardening without the need to wear a coat! A late afternoon visit to the shop to buy some milk resulted in us seeing a Glaucous Gull fly past Ungirsta and a Jackdaw at Little Hamar.

Glaucous Gull at Ungirsta
Showing a dark subterminal mark to its bill it's presumably a third-winter.

Jackdaw at Little Hamar
On seeing Robbie's message of the presence of a Jackdaw this morning I was hoping it might be a well-marked eastern form individual but its grey neck collar was, at best, feint.
