Fog was thick at first and persisted for much of the day. Quite a few of yesterday's birds had remained with us seeing the Common Whitethroat at Skaw, 3 Pied Flycatchers and a scatter of Garden and Willow Warblers but there was no sign of either the Barred Warbler or Wood Warbler. The only new species of note were a Kestrel seen at Norwick and a Whinchat at Burrafirth both being the first of the Autumn for us.
