What was proving to be a quiet evening seawatch from 7pm - with just a few juvenile Kittiwakes and a trickle of Arctic Terns (largest pack 14) moving north in conditions beginning to feel too clear and too nice - it was suddenly turned on its head when a superb adult Long-tailed Skua with complete tail came into view at 7.50pm moving north. Never close, it was originally moving purposefully above the horizon but then continued low to the water. Stunning! I watched to 8.45pm and saw little else but it proved difficult to concentrate whilst constantly re-living the views!
