Once the fog had lifted an hour at Lamba Ness produced a close Minke Whale swimming south and a distant Sooty Shearwater flying north. There was no sign of the juvenile Red-necked Phalarope although perhaps not surprising as an obliging juvenile Arctic Skua had taken up residence there chasing everything present including Starlings and Meadow Pipits.
