18th August 2016 Unst S1 Clear

The pale juvenile Arctic Skua was refound around half a mile from where it was yesterday and it was helpfully more mobile this morning although the early morning light didn't help the images. The lighthouse garden at Burrafirth played host to 2 Willow Warblers. Norwick produced 2 Sand Martins flying west, 2 Willow Warblers and a Garden Warbler. A late afternoon shopping trip to Baltasound to buy bread and milk proved far more productive than expected seeing 17 Ruff and a Black-tailed Godwit, another Willow Warbler, another Garden Warbler and bird of the day in the form of a moulting adult Long-eared Owl circling ever-higher in the warm sunshine.
