8th October 2022 Unst WNW3 Overcast

A much calmer day and dry too. We joined Pat Finch at Valyie and just as we were all leaving a flock of c.8 Greenland Redpolls arrived and there was a Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll with them - at last! Whilst we were home for lunch the postman arrived with BB containing the BBRC report. As I walked towards the postman an Acro flew from our rosa and disappeared into our willows. An hour or so watching the rosa failed to produce anything other than a Chiffchaff, but as we were leaving the house for Skaw, we obtained another brief view that suggested it was a Blyth's Reed Warbler - it eventually gave a few more glimpses and was then heard calling - it transpired Brenda had already heard it during the morning.
