The weather forecast looked ideal for commencing a moorland breeding bird survey on mainland Shetland so I left Unst early seeing a Chiffchaff and a Reed Bunting whilst driving through Haroldswick. I took my camera in the hope of photographing Mountain Hare, and it paid dividends, as I also enjoyed a close encounter with a male Hen Harrier that was flying northwest at Toft. On arriving home there was a flock of 4 Common Scoter off Norwick.
