Disappointingly it was windier than forecast at dawn but thankfully it soon eased. A Whinchat and a Robin was all that I saw at Skaw. Valyie added a Dunnock, a Redwing, 3 Blackcaps, a Tree Sparrow, 10 Chaffinches, 2 Brambling, 2 Mealy Redpolls and a Siskin. Robbie then refound Al's Dusky Warbler in the rosa at Haroldswick pool so exactly where Al had originally found it yesterday morning before it all too soon disappeared at the onset of rain. Thankfully, it performed well in the warm sunshine today. Otherwise, I only saw a Wheatear and Song Thrush at Haroldswick. Whilst mowing the lawn Paul Eele, David Roche and Rob Sheldon kindly popped round to show me the Red-flanked Bluetail that very sadly had flown into a window. A late afternoon visit to Lamba Ness produced 3 Mealy Redpolls.
