25th November 2013 Firefly Lodge, Yushan & Alishan

We birded around the Lodge before trying a couple of locations for Black-necklaced Scimitar-Babbler and Island Thrush along the road to Alishan only succeeding in hearing the former and eventually drove onto Yushan where having encountered a large flock of Coal Tits and Flamecrests we had to return to Alishan to find an overpriced Hotel in the tourist complex there. We returned to Yushan and walked the bamboo trail and then the road before calling it a day and returning to Alishan for a noisy night.
