18th November 2013 Blue Gates Trail & Chun Yang Farm, Wushe

Another longer and highly productive visit to the Continuation and Blue Gates Trail although not without its frustration as the cable between minidisk and speaker all but snapped rendering it useless - partially bodged with Elastoplast in the evening! At least we had obtained views of a responsive male Taiwan Shortwing prior to the failure. Prolonged views of a male White-backed Woodpecker accompanying a large mixed flock of species comprising many superb Taiwan Barwings and Sibias made up for utv's at Mi-ike in Japan. Another roving mixed flock encountered on our return along the trail held both endemic Rufous-faced Warbler and Yellow Tit. An evening visit to Chun Yang Farm produced a good number of Collared Finchbills.
