A cold easterly wind combined with a cold air temperature ensured the frost and laying hail remained all day. A circuit around Norwick produced a Purple Sandpiper, the Knot, 2 Woodcock, a Long-eared Owl, 2 Robins, a Waxwing, 2 Redwings and 2 Song Thrushes. At Haroldswick we saw just a Fieldfare. At Hagdale we saw a Jack Snipe and 12 Snow Buntings. At Skaw we saw a Merlin, a Robin and 2 Redwings.
