1st March 2019 Unst S1 Overcast

I met up with Brydon to take another look for Redpolls around Baltasound. We found a few but not as many as yesterday. The 2 Tundra Bean Geese were in the fields at Buness today. Being another nice calm day we then walked the headland at Skaw and then to Valyie and back seeing a flock of 20 Skylarks in the fields and 6 Snow Buntings flew over the dunes. A late afternoon visit to the shop was combined with another look through the Redpoll flock that had slightly swelled in number since the morning visit.

Skylark at Millfield

Black-headed Gull at Norwick
An incredibly tame bird was present where everyone parks at Norwick beach last Summer and today presumably the same individual returned as it was behaving in exactly the same manner at the same place!
