Awoke to a brisk northeasterly so decided to seawatch from Lamba Ness from where there was a constant passage of small flocks of Puffin and what might prove my only Pomarine Skua of the Spring being a superb pale morph with full tail. The Shore Lark and Snow Bunting were both still present. Skaw again proved quiet but Robbie kindly text to say he had found a male Blue-headed Wagtail at Haroldswick Pools. I arrived just in time for to see it be chased off by a Meadow Pipit. It didn't appear to go far but frustratingly I couldn't relocate it. Robbie then text to say he had found a juvenile Glaucous Gull on the track to Lamba Ness! Before we took a look the bird found us by appearing amongst a melee of Gulls feeding at Norwick beach. Burrafirth played host to a Lesser Whitethroat but passerines remained at a premium at other sites checked. Checking Baltasound revealed a pair of Shelduck and a pair of Pintail. Returning via Haroldswick there was again no sign of the Blue-headed Wagtail but a drake Garganey was a nice surprise to round off an enjoyable day.
