With Julian Bell scoring record numbers of White-billed Divers passing Skogsoy in recent days it's been a little frustrating not having the time to go seawatching. However, I chanced upon a fine adult sat offshore whilst carrying out the second stage of a Black Guillemot survey on East Hill this morning. A subsequent walk to Valyie was proving unproductive until whilst catching-up with Mike on his return from a trip down south, I was just bemoaning the lack of migrants today, when 2 Tree Sparrows flew from the pines, over our heads, calling away as they went - our first for the year.
