A check of a few sites around the north of the island had failed to produce any passerine migrants. Mike had seen a Bar-tailed Godwit on the Houb and on taking a look for it the Mediterranean Gull was present among a flock of Common Gulls, 2 Knot, 3 Ruff and even more pleasing was an adult Grey Plover being the first that I've seen on Unst! On driving back north the Mediterranean Gull was then seen flying north at Hagdale. A walk to Valyie and back produced a mobile and vocal juvenile Two-barred Crossbill first seen at Leawart but there was no sign of yesterday's trio at Valyie.
