7th July 2019 Unst NW3 Showers

Awoke to light rain that soon cleared. Whilst driving along Holsens road I saw a juvenile Stonechat that was a surprise as they don't breed on the island. A 90 minute seawatch from Lamba Ness provided another as a summer-plumaged Great Northern Diver flew north.

I saw just four Spring migrants this year with the most-recent on 25th April. First brood juveniles disperse from late June.

there seemed to be lots of these everywhere that I visited today!
