4th March 2017 Angkor Wat, Siem Reap

We arranged for the same tuk tuk to take us to Angkor Wat for sunrise. Before the sun had risen we were walking around admiring the temple. It was difficult to comprehend the grand scale of the stone temple and sheer number of stone carvings. We then took a walk in the surrounding forest and soon found a Forest Wagtail and a White-throated Rock-Thrush albeit not a male. We then continued touring some of the other temples in the vast complex until mid-afternoon when we headed back to Siem Reap. We then walked to the Sam Vaesna Office but found nobody there. After a couple of hours a family returned in a jeep and fortuitously it proved to be our guide for the next week. We made our arrangements to be met pre-dawn the next morning for our visit to Prek Toal.
