8th May 2023 Unst SE4 Fog & light rain

It felt like the southeasterly airflow had delivered some more migrants to north Unst with the highlight being a male Grey-headed Wagtail but also the first Black-tailed Godwits and Common Redstarts that I've seen this year as well as a couple of flocks of Barnacle Geese.

Norwick: 25 Barnacle Geese flew south and relocated at the Heritage Centre, 2 Sparrowhawk, 4 Whimbrel, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, male Grey-headed Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, Common Redstart, 2 Common Whitethroat, 4 Willow Warbler, 2 Song Thrush & 3 Brambling.

NorthDale: Whinchat, Ring Ouzel, Common Whitethroat & Chiffchaff.

Haroldswick: 50+ Barnacle Geese flew south, 4 Barnacle Geese at Heritage Centre, Sparrowhawk, Common Redstart, Chiffchaff & Willow Warbler.

Burrafirth: Blackcap.
