5th September 2022 Unst ESE5 Rain clearing

An easterly wind combined with early morning rain promised much as did finding an early morning Red-backed Shrike at Skaw but it soon became evident that not too many migrants were present around the north of the island albeit 3 Common Crossbills were the first that I've seen this year.

Skaw: Whinchat & Red-backed Shrike.

Norwick: Kestrel, Collared Dove, Fieldfare, Blackcap, Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, 8 Siskin, Redpoll & 3 Common Crossbills.

Burrafirth: 2 Stonechats & Common Whitethroat.

Haroldswick: Song Thrush, 2 Blackcaps & 4 Willow Warblers.
