18th May 2015 Unst E2 with light rain from mid-morning

An early morning visit to Skaw had drawn a blank until we were about to leave when we saw a Hoopoe flying straight towards us - brilliant! It landed on a nearby fencepost being mobbed by Meadow Pipits and soon took flight heading towards Lamba Ness. We checked Lamba Ness and on driving back to Norwick saw a female-type Ring Ouzel. Norwick played host to a few common migrants but thereafter Haroldswick and Baltasound proved very quiet.
