2nd October 2009 Hegura-jima

2/10/09 Overcast but calm at dawn. By 8am the wind had increased to E3 with light rain. Soon after very heavy rain persisted until 2pm when it stopped allowing us to get back out birding until 5.30pm in overcast conditions with the wind now S3. A total of 6 White's Thrushes were seen on the Central Track soon after dawn and a Radde's Warbler was seen along the Western Perimeter Track. A Little Ringed Plover had been grounded on the south western beach and the Whinchat had remained much to the delight of Aki who had twitched it from Tokyo.
