Probably the highlight of the trip was a stunning individual on the 29th that appeared on the Anaso track in front of us and then ran at speed away from us rounding a corner in the track. As we chased after it we saw it stood in the middle of the track before it disappeared into the vegetation at the side of the track. After c.5 minutes it re-appeared onto the track before again moving into the same area of vegetation and again repeated this performance. It was last seen as it ran at incredible speed across the track to disappear. Its affinities are uncertain but surely this species is deserving of its own Family. We all agreed on its Ground-Roller - like appearance. This species is listed as Near Threatened by BirdLife (2000).
