I walked the cliffs from Skaw to the Noup seeing a blue Fulmar, a Sparrowhawk, 5 Purple Sandpipers, 2 Woodcock, my first Bonxie of the year, the juvenile Glaucous Gull, the Sandwich Tern, 3 Puffins, 4 Wood Pigeons flying north east, a flock of 10 Hooded Crows flying north, a Mistle Thrush, 12 Fieldfare and a Chiffchaff. As I drove back along Holsens road there was challenging frosty Redpoll in a roadside field that is probably best left unidentified. This evening a flock of 4 Grey Herons flew northeast over Millfield, the juvenile Glaucous Gull was in the field behind our house along with my first Carrion Crow of the year, 2 Scandinavian Rock Pipits were on Norwick beach, and a/the Redpoll sp. was seen very briefly at Millfield.
