It remained dry from dawn until 10am allowing just enough time to complete the two WeBS counts with highlights being 2 Great Northern Divers, 2 Bonxies and 2 Purple Sandpipers. A short sea-watch from Lamba Ness produced a single Red-throated Diver flying north and more than 100 Puffins doing likewise. Perhaps surprisingly given the conditions a few new migrants had arrived with us seeing male Wheatears at Lamba Ness and Haroldswick beach, 2 Pied Wagtails at Norwick and 4 at Skaw, a Dunnock at Norwick, 60 Redwings at the sites visited, 2 Chiffchaffs at Norwick (including the first to be heard in song) and 3 Brambling at Norwick.
