‘Eastern’ Short-toed Lark 1 We found it whilst checking through the Skylarks in a field at Springfield. Streaked crown, pale supercilium, lack of trailing edge, small size, breast-side patches dark, long tertials cloaking primaries, plain breast. Call ‘trillit’. Overall very grayish. White outer tail feathers. Pale broad crescent below eye giving impression of broad eyering. Streaked mantle, scapulars hanging over coverts. Median and greater coverts fringed pale. Black centers to median coverts forming line across wing. Bill short and conical.
