21/4/02 Beachy 6.30am - 3.15pm. Wind a light SE. Sunny with some high light cloud

Red-throated Diver c.5E and 3 w/p sat on sea
Red-necked Grebe 1E then drifted past W sat on the sea. Appeared smaaler than Great Crested holding neck lower thus accentuating hunched appearance in flight. Dark crown and dark neck. White belly. Restricted white leading edge to arm and obvious white secondaries. Lacked white shoulder patches of Great Crested. On water reddish foreneck visible with whitish chin contrasting with black crown. A good record for Beachy.
