27th October 2001 Beachy Head 7.30am - 1.00pm. Cold at first but dry and calm

Snow-type Goose 1 1st-winter seen with Canada Geese in Cuckmere. Brownish smudging apparent to hindneck, mantle and coverts. White underparts. Bill not seen as feeding and not long before car appeared behind us so quickly moved on. Ross’s Goose (or even some Snow-like hybrid !) therefore not eliminated although looked quite large in comparison with (larger) Canada Geese.
