Naumann's Thrush at Chingford (David Cotteridge)
When news broke on a Sunday of this first for Britain we were in Devon looking for a reported Green Heron. Due out on audit the following day I somehow got 'lost' en-route and found myself driving JK to Chingford. Later joined by JFC, whilst watching the Naumann's Thrush on a playing field, unbeknown to us we were photographed and the result was published in the Daily Express. An invitation to my bosses office followed, and on the chair beside me was a copy of the Daily Express, with a lecture on commitment following! Commitment to chasing rarities duly continued!
