We spent much of the day walking the trails through the lowland forest in Tangkoko NP before leaving for Manado stopping enroute in some roadside forest.

We climbed to and entered the forest at Gunang Ambang spending most of the morning there before being driven to Tangkoko NP arriving after dark.

12th June 2002 Dumoga-bone NP, Sulawesi

We spent the early morning in the vicinity of a dam downstream of Toraut before walking a trail through a small remnant patch of forest behind the HQ before returning to the dam. Late afternoon we were driven to a town nearer to Gunung Ambang.

We departed Ternate at 7.30am for Manado from where we were driven via a stop for some birding around some paddies before continuing to Toraut on the edge of the Dumoga-bone NP.

We chartered a longboat to tour the Sidangoli mangroves for a couple of hours before taking a speedboat back to Ternate. We then visited Lake Tolire Besar and a couple of nearby lakes until dusk.
