After a long wait overlooking a reedbed the American Bittern was found in a nearby ditch causing a crush but thankfully the American Bittern just looked-on and good views were then obtained

Having seen females on Shetland we were keen to see this immature male so travelled up with PDL and enjoyed somewhat distant views of it at its chosen ploughed field that was presumably responsible for staining its plumage.
