31st May 2019 Unst SE1 Overcast

The Great Knot had remained overnight at Skaw and was performing well again on the beach along with several Turnstone, 5 Dunlin and a Sanderling. Otherwise I just saw 3 Swallows at Skaw and another along Holsens road. At Burrafirth there was a Common Sandpiper and a Spotted Flycatcher and at Norwick we saw a Sparrowhawk, a Robin, a female Common Redstart, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Blackcap, 4 Mealy Redpolls and a singing Chaffinch. A year ago today we found a Temminck's Stint on Small Waters and today Gavin Thomas did exactly the same!
